Notes &
Conditions:
The
Management Committee reserves the right to vary these charges. If you do not book
the Whole Hall, then you need to be aware that another user may be
hiring the other room and sharing the use of the toilets and
kitchen. Adequate
time to set up and clear up, including cleaning, must be included in
the hours booked. If you do not wish to clean the hall after the event yourself you may add Professional Cleaning to your booking for an additional £72. Professional cleaning is compulsory after jumble sales.
The
wedding/large parties hire rate covers exclusive hire from 3.30pm on
Friday to 12 noon on Sunday, to allow for set-up and clear away. A
walk-up rate is available for sports such as badminton and
table tennis. Other activities/sports are also allowed in the
Hall, but care should be taken to use soft balls only, and to avoid
marking/scratching the floor or walls in anyway. If the Hall is free
you are able to borrow the key from the Galleries Shop during shop
opening times with payment in cash only. All advance bookings will continue to be charged at the normal hourly
rate. All
general bookings must be paid for before the day of the event.
Bookings are not confirmed until the fee has been paid. The Management Committee may accept a deposit to confirm a booking. In this case the balance of the hiring fee is due 8 weeks before the event. If the balance of the hiring fee has not been received 6 weeks before the event, then the event will be cancelled by the Management Committee and the deposit retained by the Village Hall. Any use of the Queen Elizabeth recreation field by groups or for events MUST be agreed with the Booking Secretary, and a charge may be levied. The Hall has Hirers' Liability insurance cover to provide public liability insurance up to £5 million for most non profit-making hirers of the Hall, as long as they do not carry out activities at other venues nor have paid employees. Any private events such as parties or weddings held at the Hall are automatically covered. Further details of the cover can be found here. Hirers would be responsible for any excess payment due in the event of a claim.
