Yes. The Wi-Fi password is displayed on notices inside the hall.
Activities and outdoor use
The hall’s licence does not cover alcohol sales. You must obtain the hall’s permission and apply to B&NES for a Temporary Event Notice. Please tell the bookings team before applying.
The playing field is managed separately from the hall and is not automatically included in a hall booking. Some uses may be possible by prior agreement, so please include your plans in your enquiry. The field remains open to the public, and an additional charge may apply.
Possibly, but please ask before booking one. It must fit safely inside the Main Hall, the supplier must have suitable insurance, and the equipment must not damage the floor, walls or fittings. All delivery, inflation and removal time must be included in your booking.
They may be available for catering or event equipment, but all outside power connections must be agreed with the Trustees in advance.
No. The plasterboard walls and low-level windows make the hall unsuitable for roller skating.
No. For safety and insurance reasons, the hall cannot be hired for boxing or wrestling events.
Setting up and cleaning
No. Your booking must include all the time needed to set up, clear away and clean the hall.
The hall must be left clean and tidy. Please include cleaning time in your booking, or ask about professional cleaning, subject to availability.
Other booking questions and facilities
General bookings must be paid for before the event. Your booking is confirmed only when the bookings team has confirmed the arrangements and received the required payment or deposit.
The hall has insurance that may cover some non-commercial and private hirers, subject to the policy terms and exclusions. You remain responsible for damage, claims and any applicable excess, and some activities or organisations may need their own insurance. Please see the Standard Conditions of Hire or ask the bookings team if you are unsure.
If the hall is free, a £10 walk-up rate may be available for activities such as badminton or table tennis. Access is arranged through the Galleries Shop during its opening hours and payment is cash only. It cannot be reserved in advance; advance bookings use the normal hourly rates.
Yes, but additional supervision requirements apply. Please read the Standard Conditions of Hire and discuss your plans with the bookings team.
No. We keep our charges as low as possible and apply the same rates to all hirers, including charities.
Only if you hire the Whole Hall. If you hire one room, another group may use the other room and you may share the foyer, kitchen, toilets and car park.
There is ramped access into the Main Hall, and the interior is on one level. An accessible toilet is available at the adjacent Galleries Shop using a Radar key.
Step ladders are available. Please ask before using them and follow the current decoration rules; decorations must not be attached to painted surfaces.
Possibly, if the equipment is not needed for another hall booking. A small charge normally applies, so please ask the Booking Secretary.
The hall is not licensed for wedding ceremonies, but you are very welcome to hire it for a wedding reception.
The Main Hall is approximately 16 metres long by 8 metres wide.
